Week Four

Exercise, is coming slowly. We are trying to finish our basement for my preschool and so anytime we have, we are down there!

I was down a pound this week. Didn't make my goal, and let me be honest, I didn't try too hard.

I have been thinking a lot about my last post and the quote I shared. I wish I knew and could understand the Atonement better than I do. I strive to learn, and grow, and pray for understanding, yet I feel as if I should understand more than I do. And with what I do understand is seems so insufficient for my beliefs.

There is one thing I am coming to understand though. The Savior loves us, UNIQUELY. He is the one person I can go to, who understands my whole heart, my soul, my intentions, everything. Most battles we wage are personal, and lonely, suffering deep within us. Our battles are not solely left out in the open, but rather within the heart. And who better to help us understand and overcome than our Savior. Who better trust?

I keep thinking about a verse in Joshua 23:10 (Old Testament):

"One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the Lord your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you."

As a parent I watch my children strive to accomplish something that I know they need my help in. I sit quietly observing, waiting for their petition for help. I believe that the same is true with the Savior and our Father in Heaven. So often we strive to be independent, when truly we NEED to be dependent. I can accomplish this goal and any other goal I desire, if I strive to seek the Savior's help.

He fought for me. He has overcome for me. He has suffered my sins, my pains, so that He would know how to succor me. This part of the Atonement is very precious to me. I wish that everyone knew and could feel of His love for them. "...it is HE that fighteth for you." For your well-being, your happiness, your hopes, your dreams, YOUR RETURN.

Deuteronomy 20:4

"For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you,
to fight for you against your enemies,
to save you."
