You start off great, you are energized, you are seeing changes, and you are motivated to continue on and then... Life is thrown at you. Suddenly that time you thought you had to exercise, is gone to go to a game, or take care of something else, and soon exercise gets placed on the back burner. Your desire to exercise hasn't changed, just the opportunity and time to do has.
So my question is, "Why?" Why is it so easy to replace exercise with other activities. Why is it so easy to place it on that back burner? I wish I knew. I wish I was strong enough to make it happen every day.
I think that is the most frustrating part of this all. But at the same time, I think some honesty is needed too. Because if you do truly want something, then you do what it takes to get it. Right?
I mean I could exercise at night but I use the tired excuse. I tell myself that I have to do it in the morning or else it won't happen.
Sorry if it seems like I am going in circles I am just trying to process this all as I type. I think with anything in life, sometimes the most important things we should be doing are placed on the back burner, waiting for another opportunity or more convenient time. We prioritize things, and if our priorities are not in sync with our principles, then the most important things are left waiting for us to seize the day. Our priorities are what provide the balance in our life. When they are in sync with the principles that we live by, that is when we are the happiest. I think we struggle when we get off balance, and we have to reevaluate.
So that is where I am now. I have reevaluated what I need to do. I need to stay the course, be as consistent as I can. And most importantly I need to be patient. I say I am against quick fixes, but there is a part of me that would love to be already over this. :O I would love to see the results faster, and quicker, but I also know that in doing so I am robbing myself of an opportunity for growth.
Alright, one last rant. I am going back to my scripture study too. My personal scripture study is important and vital to this process. I truly believe that the only way we can expand our vision, open our minds, increase our knowledge, is to read the scriptures. When we read and apply the principles, we become what we are meant to become. And we become closer to God in the process, because our understanding of Him increases as we read. So I challenge you to read too, and if you, reader, have never read the Book of Mormon, I challenge you to read it. If you want a copy of it let me know, and I will send you one. The Book of Mormon has changed my life for good, and every time I read it, I am more humbled and amazed at how much love our Savior has for us.
p.s. I will post my weight tomorrow, finally buying that new scale!
